The role of Quality Manager is to be the driver of quality of the plant, monitoring performance to a high level of detail, identifying trends to prevent issues from developing and driving for continuous improvement of the process.
Reporting to the Site Manager and based out of our site in Colac on day shift, the Quality Manager must have a strong commitment to safety and a focus and passion for continuous improvement. The position provides great growth and development opportunities.
Ideally this position will suit someone with an interest in process improvement and quality systems and a proven background and experience in a manufacturing environment. With cutting edge technology in our green and dry mill operations, this position is perfect for someone with a passion for innovation, process and continuous improvement.
We believe the position will best suit someone with either a Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Management (or similar) or someone with strong experience in quality or people management. Exposure to the timber or manufacturing industries will be valuable but not necessary.
**Key duties & responsibilities**:
- Provide input, direction, implement and monitor the Colac Quality objectives as part of daily Operations
- Effective planning to optimise site asset utilisation, recovery and productivity.
- Monitor and assess operational activity, identifying opportunities for increased volume, recovery and value
- Lead, manage and support all Colac personnel to excel
- Lead, manage, and continually improve Colac processes and production systems
- Monitor and drive the development of recent markets and customers as well as driving the increase of "share of wallet" with existing customers.
- Ensure best practice and learnings are shared within the business
