About the role:
The available VPSG-5 Senior Policy/Projects Advisor position sits within the Strategy, Policy and Reform Division, Family Violence Command. The Division is accountable for developing and driving organisational and system wide strategic reforms in the areas of family violence, sexual offences and child abuse.
The position will report to one of the Principal Policy Officers, Strategy, Policy and Legislative Unit. As a member of a small team, you will be responsible for the development of organisational strategies, policy and key reform projects, as well as the provision of expert advice to support reform programs of work both within and external to Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:
1. Policy analysis, advice and support for Victoria Police and whole of Victorian Government reform agenda, including analysis of emerging trends and developing new strategic policy proposals across family violence, sexual assault and child abuse crime themes.
2. Drawing on specialist expertise across the Command to develop advice regarding cabinet submissions, legislative change proposals, internal policies, government discussion papers, input to national policy requests and other policy proposals.
3. Supporting coronial proceedings including supporting responses to the Coroner.
4. Managing, coordinating and supporting key Command projects, stakeholder groups and crime themes.
5. Supporting Command engagement with external government and sector stakeholders.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
6. Proven experience in policy development, research and service delivery reforms
7. Experience in working in the fields of family violence, sexual assault or child abuse
8. Demonstrated experience in conducting complex research and analysis and the ability to provide authoritative and informed advice to key stakeholders both within and external to Victoria Police
9. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills demonstrated in the delivery of significant change initiatives or projects.
Requirements and relevant information:
10. One (1) x full-time, fixed term position available – end date 31/12/2024.
11. This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
