Payroll Manager – ANZ Location: Office Based (5 days per week)
Workforce Size: Approx. 900 employees (Australia & New Zealand)
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and driven Payroll Manager to lead and elevate our ANZ payroll function. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take full ownership of payroll operations, drive system improvements, ensure legislative compliance, and support a high-performing culture.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will manage a small but capable team while partnering with Finance, Executives, and key stakeholders across the business to ensure payroll excellence.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand (approx. 900 employees)
* Oversee three deadline-driven payment runs
* Manage performance-based payments including commissions and quarterly/monthly bonuses
* Ensure full compliance with:
o Superannuation & KiwiSaver
o Payroll Tax
o PAYG / PAYE
o LSL, redundancy, terminations and taxation requirements
* Maintain strong financial controls, reviewing and enhancing payroll processes to minimise risk
* Drive payroll transformation initiatives, including:
o Payroll system transition
o HR system integrations
o Transition from fortnightly to monthly payroll
* Partner with executives, finance leaders, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders
* Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of 2–3 payroll professionals
* Manage complex stakeholder relationships and confidently resolve payroll issues
About You You are an experienced Payroll Leader who combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder management skills.
You will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll, including leadership roles within large organisations
* Strong working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation
* Expertise across taxation, bonus structures, terminations, LSL, redundancy and payroll tax
* Experience leading or supporting payroll system implementations or changes
* Advanced Excel capability
* Experience using at least one major payroll system (ADP highly regarded)
* The ability to communicate complex payroll matters clearly and confidently
