BOARD DIRECTOR – RALLY FOR A CAUSE LTD.
Rally for a Cause Ltd is a community-led charity proudly raising funds to support families and individuals impacted by life-limiting medical conditions or whose lives have been impacted by tragic circumstances beyond their control.
Rally for a Cause was founded on the Fraser Coast in 2015 and extended its charitable services to the Sunshine Coast region in 2020.To date the charity has raised over $4million dollars and assisted more than 380 eligible recipients with much needed equipment and/or financial support across both regions.In November 2024 Rally for a Cause was announced the “Community Group of the Year”at the QLD Community Achievement Awards.
Rally for a Cause is currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates to serve as a volunteer member of the Rally for a Cause Ltd. Board.
The Rally for a Cause Board of Directors oversees the strategic, compliance and ethical obligations of the organisation, ensuring that the charity is fulfilling its responsibilities with respect to:
1. Setting the strategic objectives and direction for the organisation in alignment with the charity’s vision and purpose.
2. Monitoring the performance of the organisation against strategic and annual goals.
3. Supporting the General Manager to ensure that operational management of the organisation is effective.
4. Collaborating with fellow board members to make strategic, ethical, financial or compliance decisions on behalf of the organisation.
5. Acting as an ambassador for the Charity, fostering connections with stakeholders and advocating for its objectives.
Ideal Board Director candidates should demonstrate: -
·A strong sense of community and purpose
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·A collaborative mindset to work with others to achieve common goals
·Financial acumen, with an understanding of corporate governance including the obligations of company directors, & Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC) Governance Standards
To enhance and diversify the knowledge of current Board Members, candidates with some experience in health, allied health, counselling, education, finance, HR, marketing or community services are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants would be required to attend and actively contribute to a minimum of 10 monthly board meetings per annum and be a participant of nominated board subcommittees. The Board role is for a term of up to two (2) years.
