Multiple positions to join new programs to support our youth and families of Mt Isa
You'll join a multidisciplinary crew that blends classroom-style engagement with community outreach and transition support.
The focus is practical: consistent relationships, clear goals, coordinated services, and steady progress for each young person and their family.
We're building a small, high-support service in Mount Isa for young people who are disengaged from school and/or connected with the youth justice system.
Working in small groups and through individual outreach, the team helps young people stabilise, reconnect with learning, build life skills, and move toward training and employment- while staying closely connected with family, culture and community.
What We're Looking For:
* Demonstrated experience working with disengaged young people, youth justice clients, or families experiencing complex challenges
* Skills in case management, mentoring and trauma-informed practice
* Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
* Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
* For senior roles: leadership, coaching and program planning experience
Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree or Diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development or similar (or equivalent experience)
* Current driver's licence
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
* Police Check
Available Roles
Youth Specialists
* Mentor and case manage young people to re-engage with education, wellbeing and life skills
* Provide advocacy and practical support for those with complex needs
* Build trusting relationships with young people, families and community stakeholders
Family Support Specialists
* Work in partnership with families to build capacity and strengthen relationships
* Provide holistic case management, referrals and practical support
* Promote positive parenting, child wellbeing and culturally respectful approaches
Senior Practitioners
* Lead program planning and quality service delivery
* Coach, train and support colleagues to increase skills and confidence
* Oversee caseloads, program monitoring, evaluation and risk management
* Maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships
