Regulatory Services Officer
Council's Ranger Team provides key regulatory functions, including general patrols, animal compliance, public amenity patrols, illegal dumping, waste, pollution control, and public compliance programs to keep the city safe, accessible, and a great place to live and work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Enforcing legislation and Council policies
* Environmental health protection, asbestos, illegal dumping, erosion, and sediment control, companion animals, weight-limited roads, abandoned vehicles, backyard burning support services, and Councillor after-hours pager response support services at Council festivals and public events.
Requirements:
* Experience as a Regulatory Services Officer or equivalent (e.g. Community Law Enforcement Officer)
* Previous experience with Notices, Orders, and Penalty Infringement Notices under Local Government Act, Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021, Companion Animals Act, and Protection of the Environment Operations Act
* Completion of Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services), Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation, Certificate IV in Local Government Investigation, and SDRO SEINS online training course
* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, current NSW drivers license, and current First Aid certificate
About this Role:
Two permanent, full-time positions available, working 70 hours per fortnight, access to Council's 9-day fortnight Rostered Day Off arrangement, and located at Council's Merrylands Office with frequent travel required across Council worksites
Salary Information:
$1631.25 to $1875.94 per week, plus 12% superannuation, commencing salary will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills, and experience related to the role
