Overview of the Branch
NEMA's Media, Communication and Engagement Branch delivers expert public communication, stakeholder engagement and media advice. The Branch manages media support, social media, graphic design, video production, speechwriting, internal communication and external strategic communication campaigns.
Role Summary
As Senior Digital Content Advisor you will respond to content requests, develop accessible, inclusive and engaging digital content, maintain existing content, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, write, capture, edit and publish digital content for NEMA.gov.au, email newsletters and social media.
* Create clear, concise and culturally appropriate content in line with the Australian Government Style Manual, digital accessibility standards and NEMA brand guidelines.
* Engage with stakeholders across the agency to educate on best‑practice content creation.
* Support the delivery of regular agency email communications, manage clearances and develop strategies to increase engagement.
* Gather, analyse and report on insights and data; identify opportunities and trends to improve content production and processes.
* Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project planning, briefings and approvals.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree or diploma in communications, business, public relations, journalism or related disciplines is desirable.
* Experience in content design, user experience, videography or graphic design is beneficial.
* Experience developing accessible, engaging government content and advising executives on digital communications is required.
* Ability to use software such as Vision6, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite to create content.
* Organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment.
