Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Motorcycle Mechanic will include:
* Carrying out comprehensive engine repairs and replacements, including magnetos, carburetors, and generators.
* Conducting cylinder head removals, valve grinding, and carbon scraping, as well as replacing defective valves, pistons, cylinders, and rings using hand tools and power tools.
* Repairing or replacing other motorcycle components such as headlights, horns, handlebar controls, fuel tanks, starters, and mufflers according to specifications.
* Adjusting and repairing motorcycle subassemblies like forks, transmissions, brakes, and drive chains to meet quality standards.
* Replacing defective parts using a variety of tools including hand tools, arbor presses, flexible power presses, or power tools.
* Assembling and testing subassembly units to ensure optimal performance.
* Disassembling subassembly units for thorough examination and inspection of part condition, movement, or alignment.
To be successful in this role, candidates will require a Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology or equivalent. Ideally, they should have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Motorcycle Mechanic and possess excellent teamwork skills.
