Logistics Managers – Planning & Operations
Salary: $100K–$120K+ Super
Recruit West is seeking two experienced Logistics Managers to join a client's leadership team, each playing a critical role in the end-to-end delivery of logistics operations. These roles work closely together but have distinct responsibilities—one focused on planning, the other on execution and operations.
The Roles
1. Logistics Manager – Planning
This role owns the what moves, when and how side of the business. You will ensure delivery schedules are planned, supported and clearly communicated before execution begins.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage approved delivery schedules
* Coordinate customer communication, documentation and transport paperwork
* Ensure all planned movements are operationally supported and achievable
* Escalate planning constraints or changes to Operations in a timely manner
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure seamless execution
This role sets the plan—once the load list is approved, execution is handed over to Operations.
2. Logistics Manager – Operations
This role is responsible for making it happen on the ground. Once the plan is approved, you own execution across people, plant, fleet and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute approved delivery schedules and ensure loads are delivered safely and on time
* Lead and manage drivers, warehouse teams, yard operations and internal warehouse movements
* Manage approximately 15 direct reports, including drivers and mechanics
* Oversee picking, packing, loading, unloading, and stock readiness
* Maintain physical warehouse stock accuracy and manage cycle counts
* Own fleet reliability, including preventative maintenance, breakdown response and servicing schedules
* Coordinate truck servicing and understand service intervals and downtime impacts
* Manage driver fatigue, load restraint and operational compliance
* Make real-time operational decisions in response to weather, access issues, breakdowns and labour constraints
* Escalate execution issues back into Planning when required
This role is ideal for someone hands-on, decisive and highly experienced in fleet, warehousing and operational logistics.

* Proven experience in logistics, transport or supply chain leadership
* Strong understanding of warehouse and fleet operations
* Ability to lead teams and make clear, confident operational decisions
* Experience managing compliance, safety, and maintenance requirements
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
