Location: Traralgon Salary: ASIC 3 ($81,396–$93,303) depending on experience, plus 15.4% superannuationEmployment type: Permanent and 12-month fixed term roles availableApplications close at 11:59pm AEDT, Tuesday 3 March 2026

The team

The Finance Operations team sits within Enterprise Services, which also includes Procurement, Property and Contracts, Performance Reporting and Planning, and the ERP Program.

Finance Operations provides critical financial support and advisory services across ASIC, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, taxation, unclaimed monies and industry funding. The team plays a key role in ensuring ASIC meets its financial management, compliance and reporting obligations.

The role

Key Responsibilities Include

Reviewing bank statements and reconciling public monies with general ledger entriesCompleting daily and monthly reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and taking corrective actionResponding to internal and external audit queries and analysing financial dataAssisting with tax and statutory reporting obligations in line with legislative requirementsManaging business invoice requests, customer payment collections and recommending debt write offsPreparing monthly compliance reports to support integrity, control and fraud mitigationSupporting accounts payable activities, including payment runs and on time payment reportingIdentifying and recommending continuous improvements to financial processes and practices

You will also work professionally and cooperatively across ASIC, modelling our values of Accountability, Professionalism and Teamwork, while taking reasonable care for health and safety in the workplace.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracyWell-developed customer service and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience interpreting legislation, policies and procedures to ensure complianceThe ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesConfidence using a range of financial systems and technology to support business outcomesA relevant bachelor's degree. Working towards a degree or proven industry experienceStrong Excel skillsExperience with TechnologyOne, Fringe Benefits Tax, and accounting frameworks will be highly beneficial for success in this role.
