The Faculty of Engineering is currently inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for casual academic roles in Semester 2, 2025, commencing on 4 August, to support teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate units of study.
If you are passionate about education and eager to inspire the next generation of engineers, project managers, and computer scientists, we encourage you to join our dynamic teaching teams. We welcome applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

* Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering
* Biomedical Engineering
* Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
* Civil Engineering
* Computer Science
* Electrical and Computer Engineering
* Project Management
Eligibility Requirements
To meet TEQSA requirements, applicants must hold a qualification at least one AQF level higher than the course of study being taught (AQF+1), or demonstrate equivalent academic, professional, or practice-based experience and expertise. Candidates who bring both professional experience and disciplinary knowledge will be highly valued.
Expected Duties
Depending on the role, unit of study, and your qualifications, duties may include:
* Delivering tutorials
* Supporting lectures and workshops
* Marking assessments and contributing to academic administration
Casual academic rates will be commensurate with the duties undertaken, as outlined in the University of Sydney Enterprise Agreement.
About You
We welcome EOIs from individuals who:
* Can provide evidence of high-quality teaching experience aligned with their area(s) of interest
* Demonstrate ongoing professional and/or academic engagement
Sponsorship / work rights for Australia
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this
employment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
Pre-employment checks
Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all roles requiring
pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory
maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements. If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step to
ensure they are met and in the absence of this, can terminate your employment.

- Verified testamur or academic transcripts
- Any additional supporting documentation such as references, student feedback surveys
Applicants who have already submitted an EOI through the Faculty's current process do not need to reapply.
