The solicitor appears and conducts litigation in courts such as the Children's Court of Victoria, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and related jurisdictions.
The role involves working mainly with one of the legal teams within Statewide CPLO and traveling to various Children's Court locations and child protection offices.Accountabilities include:Represent in complex and sensitive litigation involving the department in the Children's Court, VCAT, and other jurisdictions.Provide authoritative legal and policy advice, prepare high-level briefings and correspondence, and advise on emerging legal issues and their implications for the department.Mentor and support internal staff at all levels, focusing on junior staff, and external stakeholders as needed.Please see the full position description for more details.How to ApplyApplicants are encouraged to apply online, uploading attachments in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, or .rtf formats.
