Club Assist is a global market leader partnering with motoring clubs worldwide to improve member experiences. As battery technology experts, we specialise in the sourcing, storage, distribution and installation of automotive, motorcycle and marine batteries, alternators and starter motors. Our mobile service offering includes roadside services, battery replacement, alternators and starter motor replacement and vehicle inspection.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to create value for Club Assist by delivering a 1st class distribution service to our customer base within the state. The orders need to be picked and processed within a specified time frame. It is critical that these orders meet their destination based on the delivery schedules as the RAC Patrols and Contractor Network rely on the product arriving on time and being available for all the RAC members and customers as per the Club Assist/RAC Contract.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learn all roles within the warehouse and distribution functions to be able to work in any area as required by the Distribution Manager. This includes WMS, Administrative and key Distribution support areas.

Stock control – inwards & outwards goods. Ensure processes are followed by all staff and the appropriate checks are performed for all stock coming into the Warehouse and going out via Customer orders and internal deliveries.

Pick all battery orders as per picking slip.

Prepare each individual order, date stamp all batteries and label with destination.

Report any hazard that appears unsafe to the Distribution Manager.

Ensure that the Warehouse is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times. Remove any damaged batteries and ensure all leaking batteries are contained in a plastic container to avoid spillage.

Ensure that all newly delivered stock is placed onto the racking system correctly.

Attend to all scrap, warranties, rotated and damaged stock in a timely manner.

Process all scrap batteries and complete all documentation as required.

Process all warranty batteries and complete all documentation as required.

Clean up any battery acid spills as per HSEQ-SOP-01 SOP Battery Electrolyte Spill Cleanup.

Ensure that all storage sites are secure before leaving.

Ensure that all storage sites are left in a clean and tidy manner.

Any delivery waste should be disposed into a commercial waste bin.

Ensure all vehicles, trucks, forklifts and PME are regularly serviced and are clean, tidy and washed weekly.

Stack and wrap scrap batteries as per ABRI guidelines.

Drive any company vehicle in a courteous and safe manner.

Carry out end of month stocktake and assist Distribution Manager as required.

Charge any battery that does not meet the required specification (minimum 12.55 volts)

Ensure all products are correctly labelled and defined. This includes replacing interstate labels for products sourced from internal warehouses and Atomic brand applied where applicable.

Check that all placards and dangerous goods signage is on vehicles prior to deliveries.

Ensure COR compliance with all outbound deliveries.

Report any performance issues or concerns regarding Warehouse staff to the Distribution Manager as soon as possible.

Report any damage to Club Assist property to the Distribution Manager immediately.

Monitor Warehouse supplies and consumables and advise Distribution Manager when low.

Further Responsibilities

Actively contributing ideas and suggestions to improve Health and Safety performance.

Ensure that OH&S legislation is strictly adhered to at all times, including internal audits as required.

To report all accidents/incidents and near misses immediately. To participate in any associated accident investigation and assisting to successfully implement any corrective action required.

All other duties as required by the Distribution Manager to support efficient operations.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Class "C" Driver Licence

Forklift Licence

Customer Service Skills

Ability to work within a team environment

Ability to follow instructions accurately

Desirable Qualities and Competencies

Previous battery experience or knowledge
