About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessment, brief intervention, and coordinated exit planning to minimize risk of relapse and support safe transitions home.
This role involves working collaboratively with fellow clinicians, lived experience staff, families, carers, and broader treatment teams to ensure integrated, holistic care.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop trusted, professional relationships with clients
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and collaboratively develop care plans
* Engage clients using a strengths-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach
* Deliver short-term, high-quality interventions aligned with recovery principles
* Promote active participation by clients and carers in planning and feedback
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated, holistic care
* Monitor and evaluate outcomes through regular data collection and review
You will also be required to adhere to professional codes of conduct, workplace safety, and incident reporting procedures, while operating autonomously and maintaining appropriate escalation and supervision processes.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline
* Current professional registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body
* Experience in acute or community mental health settings
* Strong assessment, care planning, and risk management capabilities
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commitment to recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care
