Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist specialising in orthopaedics to support our Surgical Ward at Baringa Private Hospital. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced level Registered Nurse who acts as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facets of caring for the patient. Our Surgical Ward has 23 beds including 4 special care/high dependency monitored beds. Specialising in orthopaedic, general, urology, ENT, gynaecological, vascular, interventional cardiology, plastic, dental, and colorectal surgery, the successful candidate will have a diverse and interesting case load. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Managers you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Managers, and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Contributing and participating in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in department orientation, in-serviceing and clinical competence programs
* Making valuable contributions to the Hospital continuous improvement processes
* Demonstrating high levels of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting
* Supervising the delivery of quality patient care, developing standards of practice and implementing changes to clinical practice
* Delivering quality improvement initiatives within our clinic
* Working in an active leadership role, including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing
Skills And Experience
* Relevant registration with the AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum four (4) years' experience in surgical specialty of orthopaedics
* Post-graduate qualification, undertaking same or working towards
* Excellent time management skills
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
* Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills to ensure excellence customer service is delivered
* Ability to work rotating roster
Remuneration
On offer is base hourly rate of $56.82 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Clinical Nurse/Midwifery Specialist)
