Safety is a top priority in every aspect of our operations. As Assistant Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of experienced trades personnel on a rotation of day and night shifts. Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful execution of planned maintenance schedules while promoting a culture of safety within your crew.
To achieve this, you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with various stakeholders, from apprentices to upper management. You must also be accountable for identifying and addressing potential hazards and implementing solutions to prevent accidents.
In addition to your leadership abilities, you will require extensive knowledge of fixed plant equipment such as jaw crushers, cone crushers, mills, slurry pumps, and hydraulic pressure filters. Your experience should include trade qualifications in mechanical fitting or boilermaking, as well as non-slew crane tickets (desired). You should also hold relevant tickets for working at heights, elevated work platforms, confined spaces, forklifts, and riggers.
As a leader in this role, you will be expected to drive an aligned culture that prioritizes safety and promotes success. This will involve embedding and reinforcing safe working practices throughout your team and ensuring that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
We are looking for a professional, adaptable, and positive leader who can guide their team towards achieving these objectives. If you have a proven track record of safety-conscious thinking and have demonstrated improvements in previous roles, we encourage you to apply for this position.
