Our Communities for Children (CfC) program in Launceston is a dynamic, community-driven initiative funded by the Australian Government.
It focuses on early intervention and prevention to improve the development, health, and wellbeing of children aged 12 and under.As the Facilitating Partner, we work collaboratively with local organisations to create a strong, supportive network that addresses local needs and empowers families.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of that mission, delivering evidence-based programs that strengthen parenting skills, build resilience, and foster positive relationships between children and their caregivers.This is an on-site position, where your passion for community engagement and your ability to connect with families will make a real difference.
You'll have the opportunity to work closely with schools, health services, and community organisations, creating safe and inclusive spaces for families to learn, grow, and thrive.
Your Key Responsibilities Deliver evidence-based group workshops, life skills programs, and therapeutic activities for children and families.
Coordinate and complete program administration, including data entry into MA Connect, reporting, and maintaining accurate case notes.
Facilitate a suite of four structured programs (6-10 weeks each) and ensure participants complete all required sessions, meeting annual service delivery targets.
Engage in outreach activities to build relationships with schools, community service organisations, child health providers, and family learning centres.
Organise venues, resources, and materials for program delivery while adhering to budget requirements.
Collect evaluation data and feedback to support program monitoring and improvement.
Participate in interagency meetings and forums to promote the service, share information, and best practice and highlight community needs.
Requirements for Success Relevant qualifications in Community Services or Children's Services.
Preferred experience in youth and family work, with confidence in facilitating group sessions.
A positive, person-centred approach with a holistic view of family and child wellbeing.
Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively within part-time hours.
Strong community engagement skills and ability to network effectively to promote services.
Local knowledge of community services and established connections within the Launceston area.
Practical problem-solving skills, including finding suitable spaces for program delivery and managing logistical challenges.
First Aid & CPR Certificate is desired but not required.
Full driver licence with no restrictions.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
