**About Us**

The ANU College of Asia & the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region. The College hosts the largest number of regional experts and specialist academic programs in the English-speaking world, and plays a vital role in informing public policy and Australia's intellectual engagement with the societies, cultures and economies of Asia and the Pacific.

The Policy and Governance (PoGo) Program, in which the position is based within Crawford School, aims to deliver research, teaching, policy advice and scholarly leadership to inform policy decision-making, shape public administration practice and produce future public service leaders. Our Policy and Governance research delivers insights into the most important policy issues of our time. From public finance to health policy, anti-corruption to social policy, our interdisciplinary research generates new knowledge and informs policymaking.

**The Opportunity**

This position will contribute to a developing program of disability policy research at the Crawford School of Public Policy. The Research Associate will contribute to a national research project into young people's views about the future of Australia's systems of disability support, the development of a research network, and other research and teaching activities.

The Research Associate will be expected to conduct fieldwork such as interviews and focus groups, analyse qualitative and quantitative data, provide project management and administrative support, and contribute to high quality scholarly publications. The position will include a focus on research and stakeholder engagement, so a proven ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with diverse people is required. Interest in conducting research in disability studies is essential. Lived experience of disability, understanding of the social model of disability, and knowledge of the contemporary disability policy environment will all be highly regarded.
