**Your Opportunity**
Our Youth Workers act as an appropriate role whilst maintaining an orderly residence where young people learn to live with others and develop appropriate living skills. The Youth Workers are also responsible for providing sport and recreation activities that support young people to engage in the program.
**Your key responsibilities will be to**:
- Provide support and supervision to young people participating in the program
- Educate young people through programs relating to interpersonal and living skills
- Respond to any incidents and making an accurate reports of events
- Alongside young people maintain facilities and complete meal preparation
- Contribute to case planning-monitoring meetings with the Case Coordinator
- Maintain residential files ensuring behaviour records, progress notes are filed correctly
- Support participants to maintain acceptable standards of participant conduct
- Resolve participant complaints or refer them to supervisor as required
- Supervise young people when attending any off-site activities
**Requirements for Success**
- Relevant qualification or experience in working with youth in the community
- Knowledge of mental health issues, substance use treatment and working with youth
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of adolescent mental health issues and duty of care
- First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Evidence of Covid 19 Vaccination
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
