Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week)
Salary Range: Base Salary $96,095 per annum + super, plus overtime and penalty rates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary

Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, scheduled servicing, and general repairs. The duties will include mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and keeping workshop tools and equipment in good working order. The role also involves basic administration duties including completing job cards, time sheets, incident logs, refrigerant handling records, and other compliance paperwork. As we take pride in training the future tradespeople in the industry, mentoring and training apprentices is an expectation of the position. We expect the successful candidate to be reliable, safety conscious, and committed to providing solid customer service in a busy workshop environment.
This position also has the option to enter an On-Call roster which will be responsible for after-hours breakdowns and emergencies for 1 week at a time on a 4 -5 week cycle.
Qualifications and Experience
* Trade Certificate – Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic (HCV) with the ability to achieve accreditation for all competencies listed in the Position Description.
* High level of knowledge and experience in the repair of light commercial, passenger vehicles and trucks, to include, hydraulic, pneumatic, air conditioning, auto electrical and minor welding repairs.
* Demonstrated knowledge and ability to keep up to date with modern practices relevant to fleet servicing and repair procedures, and the use of various techniques to facilitate the appropriate training of apprentices.
* Well-developed technical, diagnostic and analytical skills relevant to mechanical servicing and repair procedures.
* Basic keyboard and computer literacy skills (or the ability to acquire).
* Good time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to achieve desired outcomes within set timeframes.
* Great customer service skills.
* Current "MR" class driver's licence, with the capacity to obtain a "HR" class driver's licence within six months.
