OVERVIEW
Our client is an award-winning developer & operator who specialises in premium apartment living and mixed-use commercial property. They also design, build and operate hotels across the country.
They are excited to expand their team and are now seeking an Interior Design Lead to join the Design team in Adelaide. This role will work closely with the internal Architectural division across a diverse pipeline of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong design sensibility, excellent stakeholder management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and construction teams.
As a Interior Design Lead,, you will play a dual role—leading projects and guiding a junior designer and other collaborators. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire creative process ensuring high-quality execution. This position requires a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a collaborative leader with a deep understanding of design and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design process from concept development through installation for multiple projects
* Manage and mentor junior designers
* Oversee the creation of design presentations, mood boards, and material selections
* Supervise the production of detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications
* Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout all phases of the project
* Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
* Conduct design reviews and quality control checks
* Stay current with design trends, materials, and technology; share insights with the team
CRITERIA
* Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field (Master's a plus)
* 5 + years of professional interior design experience
* Proficiency REVIT Software
* Experience working directly for a Developer, Landlord or internal Interior design teams is desirable
* Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Exceptional design sensibility with attention to detail, scale, and materials
* Knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction methods
* Ability to manage multiple projects and delegate effectively
* Strong client-facing communication skills
