Opening in 2021, Barramurra Public School features 54 state of the art classroom spaces which are designed to facilitate innovative, flexible and collaborative teaching practices. Barramurra Public School has 4 support classes catering for students with a moderate intellectual disability and autism. The school encourages a holistic and inclusive approach, supported by strong student wellbeing programs. Barramurra Public School serves a rapidly growing multicultural community of 1190 students with 62% of our students having a language background other than English. Our students come from 30 different countries and speak 65 different languages. 3% of our students identify as Aboriginal and our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds.
Barramurra Public School has established strong relationships with the community and provides a range of extra-curricular activities in sport, science, technology, and creative and performing arts, which enable all students the opportunity to excel through a range of experiences in an equitable and outstanding learning environment. Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education
* Outstanding ability to promote and manage a library that functions as a learning hub for the school and engages, inspires and extends all learners, particularly with opportunities for authentic engagement with information and communication technology.
* Demonstrated skills to work flexibly and collaboratively with staff and students to design and deliver engaging and research-based teaching and learning practices across all Key Learning Areas, including the authentic integration of digital technologies and resources.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with an ability to build a positive and effective relationship with students, staff, parents and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
