This is an excellent chance for a talented lawyer with 2-5 years PQE to step into a newly created position focusing on debt collection and litigation. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and optimisation of legal workflows that support our debt recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and lodge caveats and mortgages with relevant land registries.
* Act as the primary legal contact for Collections and Workout teams, providing practical and timely advice.
* Contribute to the development of innovative legal solutions that drive business outcomes.
* Draft and negotiate settlement deeds, repayment arrangements, and restructuring documentation.
* Assist with AFCA dispute responses.
* Provide ad hoc legal and regulatory advice and review contracts as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Law degree with a current Australian practising certificate.
* 2-5 years PQE, ideally in lending, debt recovery, or commercial litigation.
* Strong experience preparing caveats, mortgages, and settlement documentation.
* Experience managing or advising on commercial debt collection litigation is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
* High integrity and professional judgment with a business-minded approach.
