We break negative cycles, develop young leaders and create lasting change in communities.About the roleAs the Team Leader for the Bundaberg/Wide Bay Burnett area, you will play an integral role in Youth Insearch's ability to support at risk young people through their peer-developed programs.
You will provide management and oversight to the integrated 'youth hub' of Social Workers, Youth Workers and Peer Worker Trainees across the region from Bundaberg to Gladstone.
The program is delivered with youth, supported by expert adults and is centered around individual support, weekend workshops, and weekly support groups.Your responsibilities may include:Provide direct support and supervision to the region7s Social Workers, Youth Workers and Peer Worker Trainees (lived-experience workers), as well as maintain a caseload of young people with whom you provide direct support toWork closely and collaboratively within community, referring agencies and service providers as a key stakeholder in raising the company profile and embed its programs within the regionEnsure that KPIs for the region are being met through case management, Weekend Workshops and support groups across your region7s Social Workers and Peer Worker TraineesProvide high-quality protected and effective support to young people, within the context of policies, procedures, and legislationProvide secondary consultation to the region7s Social Workers, Youth Workers and Peer Worker Trainees in the context of working through practice challenges including but not limited to mandatory reporting, managing challenging behaviours, risk assessment as well as best practice interventionParticipate in supervision (operational and clinical) to ensure that a high-level of practice is delivered and maintainedAttend all Weekend Workshops and Weekly Support Groups, supporting the young people in your regionMaintain high standards in the record keeping of client records, ensuring that case records are kept up to date and are accurate.Undertake risk assessments on young people and provide appropriate follow-up and interventionAbout YouAs an experienced and passionate social worker with a passion for working with youth, you will be proactive and driven with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following attributes as a minimum:Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant Allied Health discipline5+ years' experience working with vulnerable populations within a case management lensExtensive knowledge of the challenges and issues experienced by young people (12-20) affected by traumaStrong communication skills with experience developing community networks and establish/increase community engagementSound risk assessment skills including but not limited to suicide risk, psychological distress and mandatory reportingExperience working within a multidisciplinary teamAbility to work autonomously exercising advanced practitioner level skillsDemonstrable supervisory experience preferably in the child, youth and family sectorEssential requirementsNational Police CheckFull QLD Drivers LicenseBlue Card (WWCC)Current First AidFor the opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives, and break negative cycles by creating a protected space for them to be supported, APPLY NOW.
