Krause Bricks, a family-owned manufacturer of bespoke bricks, seeks a financially astute, commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the ongoing success of this proudly Australian business.
The Opportunity:
This senior-level role is responsible for managing the accounting operations of Krause Bricks. The Financial Controller oversees financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, daily transactions, and regulatory compliance. The individual in this role will act as a strategic advisor to executive management, providing analytical insights and timely financial information to support business decisions and facilitate organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards; provide insights into business performance to support strategic decisions.
Budgeting:
Lead the annual budgeting process with department heads to develop forecasts, monitor variances, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Cash Flow:
Oversee short and long-term cash flow planning and management to maintain liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax, audit, and financial reporting obligations; maintain a strong control environment.
Team Leadership:
Build and develop a finance team, fostering accountability and collaboration to create a high-performing unit.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and systems; implement improvements to increase accuracy and productivity.
Cost Control:
Develop and enforce cost management strategies; analyse spending and identify opportunities to improve margins.
Management Reporting & Risk Management:
Deliver monthly management reports and dashboards; proactively identify financial risks and apply mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, operations, auditors, and banks, to support financial transparency and strategic alignment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Postgraduate qualifications such as CPA, CA, or CMA are desirable.
Professional Experience:
7–10 years in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations; proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience implementing ERP systems is an advantage.
Analytical Abilities:
Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.

Clear communication and meticulous work ethic.
