About the Role
Provide enterprise-level governance, risk and compliance oversight and advice across Jacana Energy. Reporting to the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance, the role oversees risk, compliance and governance frameworks, partners with leaders to drive assurance and risk maturity, delivers independent reporting to senior leadership, the Board and regulators, provides governance oversight of procurement and contract management practices, and promotes a strong risk and compliance culture.
Core Responsibilities
1. Manage and maintain enterprise risk management tools and practices, driving and facilitating comprehensive risk identification, assessment, treatment, and monitoring in accordance with the Risk Management Framework and approved risk appetite.
2. Strengthen organisational risk capability and maturity by developing and delivering comprehensive risk management training and facilitating enterprise-wide risk identification and review activities.
3. Partner with the business at all levels to ensure timely and effective completion of audit action items and risk treatments, including verification of action completion.
4. Develop, implement, and continuously improve governance, risk and compliance frameworks, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
5. Lead governance oversight of organisational procurement and supplier contract management practices, providing expert advice to stakeholders and promoting compliance with approved procurement and contract management procedures.
6. Provide independent, high-quality reporting and insights to the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee, Board and external regulators on audit outcomes, risk exposures, compliance performance, and governance effectiveness.
7. Support effective Board and Committee assurance and decision-making through the preparation, coordination and quality-review of high-quality reports and assurance materials.
8. Drive a high-performing team, fostering engagement, professional capability, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with organisational values and objectives.
9. Promote a strong risk, compliance, and assurance culture, championing ethical behaviour, transparency and continuous improvement through targeted awareness initiatives and leadership engagement.
10. Comply with the NTPS and Jacana Energy's Code of Conduct, NTPS and Jacana Energy corporate values and strategies, policies, and procedures as well as other relevant regulatory guidelines.
Selection Criteria
1. Exceptional experience in enterprise risk management and assurance, including the application and continuous improvement of contemporary risk management frameworks, oversight of risk identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring, and conducting compliance or assurance reviews.
2. Well-developed experience across the procurement and supplier contract management lifecycle, including the application of best-practice assurance, compliance, and risk management processes.
3. Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience leading and developing high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
4. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing high-quality policies, frameworks, reports, and assurance materials.
5. Well-developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders across an organisation.
6. Substantiated capability in Board, Committee, and executive reporting, including the ability to synthesize complex risk, compliance, and governance information into clear, actionable insights.
7. Proven ability to drive organisational change and uplift risk and compliance maturity, fostering a strong culture of risk awareness, ethical behaviour, and continuous improvement.
8. Record of accomplishment of self-motivation, initiative, commercial and customer service focused acumen, combined with strong organisation and analytical skills and proven capacity to deliver results.
Additional Qualifications
Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualifications in risk management, internal audit, or other.
