About the Role
As a Fibre Technician at NX Solutions, you will play a key role in the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of fibre-optic networks. You'll work both independently and as part of a high-performing field team to deliver projects to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
* Install, splice, terminate, and test fibre-optic cables in various environments (underground, aerial, internal pathways).
* Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source, and other fibre-testing procedures.
* Perform fault finding, repairs, and maintenance on existing fibre networks.
* Interpret network designs, plans, and specifications.
* Ensure high standards of workmanship, documentation, and reporting.
* Follow all WHS requirements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
* Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and project managers.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good operational condition.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Demonstrated experience in fibre-optic installation, splicing, and testing.
* Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and network technologies.
* Experience using OTDRs and related test equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret telecommunications plans and drawings.
* Full driver's licence.
* Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Desirable:
* ACMA Open Cabler Registration with Structured, Coaxial, and Fibre endorsements.
* NBN/Carrier-specific accreditations (e.g., NBN TA/TC/CPR, Pit & Pipe).
* EWP, First Aid/CPR, or confined space certifications.
* Experience working on major carrier networks or commercial fibre projects.
