The role
Join our Infrastructure Projects team on a 12-month fixed-term contract and play a key role in shaping the City's future.
You'll support a wide range of planning projects – conducting site investigations, preparing designs, coordinating tenders, and administering contracts to ensure compliance and quality delivery. Working closely within internal teams, State Authorities, utilities, contractors and the community, you'll help develop strategies, masterplans and project scopes that guide long‑term infrastructure outcomes. This role offers variety, meaningful project involvement, and the chance to build strong stakeholder relationships while contributing to a positive, safe and high‑performing team environment.
About You
You're an experienced engineering professional with a strong grasp of infrastructure planning, design and construction, and demonstrated project‑management capability. You excel at preparing clear, detailed reports and communicating effectively with a wide range of audiences. You are skilled in negotiation and stakeholder engagement, building constructive relationships with internal teams, external agencies, utilities and the community to achieve project objectives.
Your professional approach, strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence with confidence ensures you represent the City effectively while keeping stakeholders informed, aligned and engaged throughout each project.
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in an engineering field, a current driver's licence, and experience within a local government engineering environment is desirable.
