This is a hands-on position in a busy kitchen environment, preparing a variety of sweet and savoury items, supporting catering orders, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You will need to be flexible, as no two days are the same, and able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake all sweets, pastries, and savoury items in-house (e.g., slices, patties, quiches).
* Assist with preparation of daily café menu items and catering platters.
* Support catering services, including high teas, events, and large group orders.
* Ensure all food is prepared to high quality, presentation, and taste standards.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene in line with food safety requirements.
* Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
* Collaborate with other kitchen and café staff to ensure smooth service.
* Contribute to maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
* Proven baking and food preparation skills – sweets and savoury.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
* Flexibility with tasks and working hours.
