The Opportunity
Xavier College is seeking a dedicated and proactive Property Services Officer to join our team supporting our Gawler Belt, Two Wells, Evanston and Riverlea Park campuses. This permanent, full-time role plays an important part in ensuring our learning environments are safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff and the wider community.
Working under the general supervision of the Facilities Operations Manager, you will contribute to the effective maintenance of buildings, grounds and facilities, while upholding our Catholic identity and Salesian ethos.
In this role, you will:
* Carry out routine building, grounds and facilities maintenance to a high standard.
* Undertake gardening duties, turf maintenance and safe operation of relevant machinery.
* Support minor repairs, construction tasks and general maintenance activities.
* Liaise with licensed contractors and support compliance with WHS directives.
* Assist with inspections, hazard identification and site safety responsibilities.

About You
You are a practical, reliable and safety-focused team member who takes pride in maintaining facilities and grounds to a high standard. You enjoy hands-on work, can work both independently and collaboratively, and communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and students as required.
You will bring:
* Certificate III in horticulture or gardening, or relevant trade experience
* Experience and practical skills in grounds, building or property maintenance
* Ability to operate plant and equipment safely (e.g. ride-on mowers, blowers, edgers, chainsaws)
* Knowledge of turf and garden maintenance practices
* Sound organisational and time-management skills
* Strong understanding of safe work practices and WHS requirements
* A collaborative approach and the ability to follow direction responsibly
Other role requirements:
* Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* RRHAN-EC certification (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* Current SA Drivers license and ability to travel between sites
* White Card
* Safe Chainsaw Operation training (or willingness to obtain)
* Herbicide/Pesticide training (or willingness to obtain)
* Manual Handling and WHS awareness training (or willingness to undertake)
