The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Child and Youth Mental Health - Access Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide social work specific interventions and assessments
- Provide a comprehensive and flexible mental health service to children, young people and their family/carers
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge in child and youth mental health, in order to provide education programs and mental health consultation
- Provide clinical documentation and report writing skills to meet the requirements of Queensland Health Child and Youth Mental Health Service
- Maintain the currency and high quality of professional practice knowledge, skills and expertise
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- A tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19. This includes receiving the prescribed subsequent dose/s of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e. booster)
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

- Base salary ranging from $77 741 - $107 556 per annum
About Us
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Access Team is a multidisciplinary, multi-specialty team within the Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Services operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide multi-specialty mental health intervention to children and young people (0-18 years). The CYMHS Access Team provide triage, assessment and acute care intervention to children and young people in the community or presenting to the local Emergency Departments, both within and after hours. The CYMHS Access Team works with children, young people and their family and key stakeholders. Based in Robina.
