Who is the Canberra Region Joint Organisation?

The Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO) provides regional leadership and advocates on behalf of 11 member Councils across the South East NSW, comprising the Councils of Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Goulburn Mulwaree, Hilltops, Queanbeyan-Palerang, Snowy Monaro, Snowy Valleys, Upper Lachlan, Wagga Wagga, Wingecarribee and Yass Valley. Working in partnership with associate members, the ACT Government, and Canberra Airport covering 92,000 sq kms and a population of 800,000.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join our busy team on a fixed term contract, till 30 June 2027. This position will play a critical role in the delivery of regional waste and circular economy related projects, looking to promote waste minimisation and exemplary waste management.

In this role you will:

* Work on food waste avoidance projects in the CRJO region, looking to increase diversion of food and organic waste from landfill.

* Develop and deliver a range of other regional circular economy related projects targeting better waste and resource recovery outcomes, including project planning, designing communication strategies and project delivery and evaluation.

* Liaise and coordinate waste project activities with the participating Councils and other organisations in the CRJO region. Convene regular project and workgroup meetings with regional waste educators.

* Prepare, submit and project manage grant funding applications with the NSW EPA and other departments.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

* Relevant qualifications in Waste Education, Waste Management, Project Delivery and/or similar work experience.

* Demonstrated understanding of waste minimisation issues, trends and Circular Economy principles.

* Manage change and improvement of business practices and processes to support CRJO be a regional leader.

Benefits

* A commencing annual salary of $94,957 with progression up to $104,226 dependent upon skills and experience, plus 12% superannuation.
