Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Records Management Officer to join our Records Services team within the Customer Experience department. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of high-quality records management services across the organisation. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service. This exciting role will:
- Supervise, lead, and mentor the Trainee Records Management Officer.
- Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex records management enquiries.
- Provide training and coaching to Records Management Officers to build technical capability.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to approved processes and KPIs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve service delivery and information management.
- Conduct quality audits and allocate resources to meet fluctuating workloads.
- Support the team during peak periods to maintain service standards.

- Tertiary qualifications in Records/Information Management or equivalent, and/or relevant experience.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop staff to meet performance targets.
- Excellent interpersonal, consultation, and influencing skills.
- Sound judgement, problem-solving ability, and a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience using Enterprise Content Management systems (preferably HP TRIM, Records Manager, or Content Manager).
- A demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new systems, processes, and technologies.
