The role of Principal Mining Engineer is a pivotal position within the organization.
Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing planning and budgeting processes that drive operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Your expertise in underground planning and scheduling, coupled with your leadership experience, will enable you to provide strategic input to the senior leadership team and ensure the successful implementation of long-term plans.
In addition to these key responsibilities, you will be tasked with evaluating resources and reserves, communicating areas of risk, and initiating corrective plans to prevent adverse trends.
A highly motivated and results-driven individual, you will possess a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and have proficiency in Deswik mine planning software.
As a key member of the mining team, you will work closely with the environmental department to ensure timely mining approvals and contribute to the development of opportunities to improve operational performance and reduce risks.
To excel in this role, you should have:
* At least 10 years of experience in Mining Engineering.
* A proven track record of leading a team.

* Strong financial skills, including budgeting and cost reporting.
