An established and design-led architectural studio is seeking a Senior Project Leader / Associate to join its Melbourne team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of large-scale projects valued between $100M–$200M, working across a diverse mix of sectors including seniors living, commercial, wellness, and education. Working closely with a Director, you will lead fast‑paced projects currently progressing into Design Development, overseeing both the strategic and technical delivery of the work. This role requires a confident and experienced project leader who can guide teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and ensure high‑quality design outcomes are delivered on programme and within budget. You will be responsible for leading a full project team, coordinating design and documentation workflows, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest professional standard. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple project demands in a dynamic studio environment will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day‑to‑day delivery of large‑scale architectural projects ($100M–$200M) from DD to completion
Manage and mentor an internal team, ensuring quality, coordination and project deadlines are met
Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Manage project programmes, resourcing and budgets
Collaborate closely with Directors and senior leadership on project strategy
Oversee and review documentation produced by the team, taking a QA role
Support and guide the team in Revit and documentation where required
Skills & Experience
Registered Architect (ideally) with 15+ years of professional experience
Proven experience leading and delivering complex projects of similar scale and value
Related project typology exposure to bring knowledge and value to the team
Confident managing large consultant teams and stakeholder relationships
Strong understanding of consultant coordination and client relationship management
Exceptional understanding of project delivery from design through documentation
Highly organised with strong skills in programming and resourcing
A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring teams and driving project outcomes
Revit capability is required, as is exceptional technical knowledge
