Seafood Production Worker – Cleaning, Sanitation & Production Line Support

Full-time position with an immediate start.
We are seeking a full-time Seafood Production Worker to join our team immediately at our state-of-the-art Mount Barker facility. This role is ideal for someone who is physically fit, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. The position involves hands-on manual tasks, heavy lifting, and safe use of cleaning chemicals while wearing supplied PPE.
You will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, safety, and production efficiency, ensuring all workspaces are properly prepared, sanitised, and ready for staff each day.

What You'll Be Doing
* Maintaining the wash area to ensure smooth rotation and availability of equipment.
* Preparing work areas and equipment for the next day's production, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
* Assisting on the filleting line as required.
* Completing end-of-day cleaning, sanitising, and reset duties to company standards.
* Working efficiently on the production line to maintain continuous product flow through each stage of processing and packing.
* Handling and processing fresh seafood according to established food safety and quality procedures.
* Operating equipment and machinery to portion, package, and prepare seafood products for distribution.
* Strictly following hygiene, food safety, WHS, and biosecurity protocols at all times.
* Performing sanitation duties including washing, scrubbing, rinsing, and chemical-based cleaning of equipment, tools, trays, and work areas using appropriate PPE.
* Keeping all work areas clean, tidy, organised, and compliant with company standards.
* Carrying out physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, repetitive movements, bending, and carrying.
* Reporting safety hazards, equipment faults, or maintenance concerns promptly.
* Using initiative and problem-solving skills to support smooth daily operations.
* Working both independently and collaboratively to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
* Assisting across connected departments when required.
* Being available for additional hours during peak periods such as Christmas and Easter.

What We're Looking For
* Physically fit and capable of completing manual labour and heavy lifting throughout the shift.
* Reliable, punctual, and committed, with strong self-motivation and a proactive work ethic.
* Comfortable and confident using cleaning chemicals and wearing all required PPE.
* Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or seafood processing (preferred).
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately.
* Good hand–eye coordination and stamina to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
* A strong commitment to workplace cleanliness, food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity.
* Comfortable working autonomously as well as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
* Comfortable working in cold and wet conditions.
