The Clinical Services Building opened in 2021 and includes three operational theatres with a range of elective and emergency surgery. Current specialties include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology and Oral Surgery. The anaesthetic workforce includes 2 anaesthetists in elective theatres and roles in pre-assessment and Anaesthetist-on-Duty (AOD). The incumbent will provide anaesthetic services, contribute to the on-call/after-hours roster, engage in clinical governance, and participate in Department of Anaesthesia meetings. The incumbent will supervise and assist in educational and professional development of undergraduate and postgraduate students, SRMOs and Registrars, and maintain productive relationships with internal and external providers.Selection CriteriaFellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners or Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine and Advanced Certificate in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (RGA) or JCCARegistered or eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Demonstrated current clinical experience in Anaesthesia at an appropriate levelDemonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standardsDemonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadershipDemonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical research, simulation and quality improvementDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skillsOccupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination This is a Category 'A' position.
