Role details
To ensure it continues to meet the needs of its community and capitalise on future opportunities, the Shire is embarking on a new organisational structure designed to modernise service delivery, strengthen leadership, and enhance collaboration across all functions. Reporting to the Manager – Strategic Planning, Transport & Environment, the Team Leader, Coast and Climate Resilience will lead programs and initiatives that protect and enhance the Mornington Peninsula’s unique natural environment. You will oversee the development and delivery of strategies, policies and projects that strengthen the resilience of the Shire’s coastline and communities to the impacts of climate change. With responsibility for coastal planning, adaptation programs and sustainability initiatives, you will collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, research partners and the community to deliver practical solutions that balance environmental protection, liveability and economic needs.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong experience in environmental management, climate change adaptation, coastal planning or related fields.
- Proven ability to translate strategy into action.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work with diverse communities.
- Confidence navigating complex regulatory and political environments.
- Robust communication and leadership capabilities to guide a team toward innovative, evidence-based outcomes.
