The Electrical Engineering Technician
Providing technical, estimating, analytical, and documentation support to the company's electrical contracting operations.
Primarily office-based and technical in nature, supporting managers and licensed electricians through cost estimation, materials planning, system analysis, testing, data review, and preparation of technical documentation for electrical, solar, automation, and communications projects.
Key Description
Estimating and Cost Support
Assisting with estimating material quantities, labour inputs, and equipment requirements for electrical and communications projects.
Preparing cost breakdowns, schedules, and technical inputs to support project quotations and tenders.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify technical and material requirements.
Supporting managers in compiling pricing documentation and variation assessments.
Technical Documentation and Data Analysis
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including service reports, test records, commissioning summaries, and system descriptions.
Collecting, reviewing, and analysing test data, system logs, and performance reports from electrical and solar systems.
Preparing charts, tables, calculations, and summaries to present technical information clearly for management and clients.
Maintaining accurate records in accordance with internal procedures and contractual requirements.
Electrical and Systems Technical Support
Supporting the analysis of electrical system performance, faults, and operational issues using drawings, manuals, and recorded data.
Assisting with system testing reviews, verification results, and post-installation performance assessments.
Reviewing monitoring data from solar PV systems, power systems, and communications equipment to identify trends or issues.
Providing technical input to managers and electricians to support planning, maintenance, and rectification works.
Coordination and Project Support
Liaising with managers, licensed electricians, administrators, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding technical requirements and documentation.
Assisting in coordinating materials procurement lists and equipment schedules.
Supporting compliance documentation and internal quality assurance processes.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
Assisting managers in preparing technical explanations, reports, and responses for clients.
Communicating with clients and suppliers regarding system specifications and performance information.
Using Persian language skills, where required, to communicate effectively with Persian-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Essential Selection Criteria
Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a closely related field, consistent with ANZSCO
Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating support, technical documentation, system analysis, or engineering technician functions.
Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals.
Experience preparing reports, cost inputs, data summaries, and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an office-based technical role.
Desirable Selection Criteria
Experience with solar PV systems, monitoring platforms, automation systems, or communications infrastructure.
Proficiency with technical software, spreadsheets, and documentation tools.
Persian language proficiency, supporting communication with Persian-speaking clients and suppliers
