Job Description
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Wholesale and Commercial Manager, this role will be focused on sourcing, negotiating and managing long term offtake agreements for Potentia Energy's portfolio of battery energy storage system (BESS) and renewable assets.
This role will be key to securing revenue and underpinning final investment decisions for Potentia's pipeline of development projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with a broad network of potential counterparties for BESS and renewable offtakes.
* Identifying and developing opportunities for long term offtakes based on an understanding of potential counterparty requirements; the characteristics of Potentia's development portfolio; and developments in the energy market.
* Structuring offtake opportunities in collaboration with potential counterparties, by developing key commercial terms and principles.
* Collaborate with the broader Energy Markets, Legal and Business Development teams to advance term sheets and long form agreements for offtake opportunities.
* Manage responses to tenders and requests for proposals sought by potential counterparties for offtake procurement.
Desired Skills And Experience
Selection Criteria
* 5+ years of experience in a commercial role in the Australian energy sector.
* Sound knowledge of NEM and WEM power markets.
* Good understanding of contract structures, including renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs), BESS offtakes, and futures/OTC derivatives.
* Experience negotiating and/or managing complex contracts.
* Strong attention to detail.
* A proactive approach, with the ability to both work independently and collaborate across the business.
* The right to live and work in Australia.
