This may just be the gig for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands‐on Interior Decorator & Stylist to join our growing team.
We're Sale by Design Homes, one of Melbourne's premier home staging companies. We make properties look incredible, so they sell faster. Our team of young professionals is growing fast, and we need a creative powerhouse who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the physical and creative work of staging.
The Opportunity
This role is perfect for a designer who wants to get their foot in the door and grow. We are looking for someone to start on a casual basis, with the intent to convert into a full‐time role as you find your groove within the team.
You'll be working across a huge variety of projects, from high‐end display homes and cozy Airbnb's to houses hitting the market for real estate listings. If you want to grow with us and aren't afraid to figure things out as you go, keep reading!

* Previous Decorating Experience: You've done this before. Whether it's a Certificate in Interior Decoration with a portfolio of work or professional experience, you understand the fundamentals of design.
* Creative Intuition: You just have an eye for styling and can conceptualise layouts that make a room feel \"just right.\"
* Physical Fitness & Stamina: Staging is a workout! You need to be fit and happy to move, lift, and be on your feet all day.
* Attention to Detail: You're the person who notices if a cushion is flat or a painting is 2cm off‐centre. You take pride in making beds look editorial and ensuring furniture is spotless.
* Communication: You can easily chat with our logistics team and fellow stylists to keep the day running smoothly.
* Organisational Ninja: You can keep track of inventory and understand exactly what's missing from a property once the big furniture is in.
* Valid Driver's Licence: Essential to have a car that you can drive around (you will be compensated for petrol and maintenance). Bonus points if you're comfortable driving a small automatic van!
A Day in the Life
* Morning: Arrive at the warehouse or meet the team at a property. Review the brief and start cracking into staging.
* Mid‐morning: The styling is well and truly underway with the logistics crew getting the large furniture items sitting in the right place. You now move onto selecting the right artwork, hanging it perfectly, making beds and placing décor to showcase the property's potential.
* Lunch: A quick brief with the operations team about the next property on the list.
* Afternoon: You are travelling to the next property for the day, getting ready to do it all again!
* Late afternoon: Measuring up a new space for an upcoming project, preparing a quote, or selecting a bespoke furniture package for a client.
What Success Looks Like
* First 2 months: You've learned our \"Sale by Design\" aesthetic. You're proactive on‐site, noticing what's needed before you're even asked, and the team trusts your eye.
* 4 months: You're taking more ownership of designs. You can conceptualise a layout for home that needs to be staged by picking the right furniture and décor from floor plans. You can do this independently and with great eye for detail.
* 12 months: You're an integral part of the full‐time team. You're managing your own projects, building relationships with agents, and helping shape the visual direction of our brand. You're coming to the table with new ideas and expressing your creativity with the blank canvases we fill each and every day.

Interview Process
* Casual Chat: A coffee/meeting with our Operations Manager and Founder to talk through your portfolio and experience. We will also get you to put a small room together and have a chat about your creative choices.
* On‐Site Trial: Join us for a staging session! We want to see how you work in the environment and how you fit with the team.
* Final Chat: A talk about expectations, growth, and making sure we're both pumped to work together.
