About the role
Are you a process improvement expert with a knack forsimplifying complexity? We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on FinanceProcess Improvement Lead to help transform how finance operates at a small, fast-growingAustralian bank. Reporting to our Head of Financial Reporting, this 9-monthcontract is critical to driving operational efficiency, improving accuracy, andembedding automation across key finance processes.
This role is all about focus: you’ll work on one financeprocess at a time — redesigning it for clarity, control, and automation whererelevant. It’s hands-on, operational, and strategic all in one. You’ll be keyto driving greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in our financefunction.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end review, redesign, and remediation oftargeted finance processes, focusing on one process at a time.
* Collaborate with finance and cross-functional stakeholdersto map current state processes, identify inefficiencies, and designfit-for-purpose solutions.
* Develop and implement streamlined processes that enhanceaccuracy, reduce manual effort, and enable automation where feasible.
* Build documentation, workflows, and controls to supportsustainable change.
* Champion a continuous improvement mindset within the financeteam.

All about you
We’re seeking a results-driven, passionate professional whois ready to take the role and make it their own. You’ll bring:
* 5+ years’ experience in finance process improvement, financeoperations, or related roles (banking or financial services preferred).
* Strong understanding of core finance processes.
* Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives withmeasurable outcomes.
* Hands-on experience with process mapping, gap analysis, andworkflow documentation.
* Familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Excel macros, orsimilar) a strong plus.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise, and deliveroutcomes on time.
