Overview
Allied Pumps is an Australian-owned manufacturer and provider of engineered pumping systems and water infrastructure solutions. We design, assemble, supply and support specialised pumping and fluid handling equipment across Western Australia and nationally, servicing the mining, industrial, commercial and resources sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to operate in a senior technical sales capacity, working directly with industrial and resources clients to develop engineered solutions and manage end-to-end sales activities for complex pumping applications.
About the role
This role combines deep technical capability with strong commercial acumen and relationship management. You will work closely with customers to understand operational challenges, recommend fit-for-purpose pumping solutions, and deliver commercially sound outcomes from initial enquiry through to order and post-delivery support.
You will also collaborate internally with engineering, production and service teams to ensure correct equipment selection, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
Key responsibilities
* Identify and develop sales opportunities with mining, industrial and infrastructure clients
* Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
* Develop a detailed understanding of Allied Pumps' engineered pumping systems, components and market positioning
* Meet with clients on-site and in-office to assess technical requirements, duty conditions and performance expectations
* Recommend appropriate pumping solutions and system configurations based on customer needs and specifications
* Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including pricing, scope of supply, lead times and warranty conditions
* Negotiate commercial terms and close sales in line with company delegations
* Coordinate with engineering, production and service teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes
* Monitor customer satisfaction, follow up post-delivery and resolve technical or commercial issues
* Track competitor activity and changes in customer demand, reporting insights to sales management
* Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports and market updates
* Maintain accurate CRM records, quotations and order documentation
What you'll bring
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent)
* Strong technical knowledge of industrial pumping equipment and fluid handling systems
* Proven experience in technical sales within mining, industrial or infrastructure environments
* Ability to translate complex engineering requirements into practical, commercial solutions
* High-level client engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills
* Strong commercial judgement and business awareness
* Professional communication and documentation capability
