Position Information The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people. About the Role This role is vital to the maintenance and upkeep of departmental schools. To be successful in the role you will need to have good planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to work effectively with others. You will perform a range of tasks relating to the routine maintenance and upkeep of a Departmental School/grounds. The role may assist with the set up and removal of furniture and equipment for school activities. You will identify and report maintenance and safety issues. This is a part time 0.4FTE role
Additional Information Gordon East Public School is situated on spacious and picturesque grounds in Gordon and serves a diverse student population of 165. Our school community is highly supportive and works collaboratively to foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. This position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to maintaining the safety, appearance, and functionality of the school environment, supporting the wellbeing and engagement of the school community. The successful applicant will play a key role in the ongoing maintenance of the school’s expansive grounds. Duties include garden maintenance such as pruning and plant care, mowing lawns and playing fields, preparing grounds for planting, planting and watering trees and shrubs, as well as light lopping and trimming of trees and hedges. An understanding of safe workplace procedures is essential, including the proficient operation, storage, and maintenance of mowers, tools and equipment.
