We are looking for Meter Readers for our client based in the Ipswich area. This is a temporary contract but will be on-going. Shifts: Hours available between Monday to Sunday 8am to 8pm.
About the role
As a member of the Metering team, you will install, maintain and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.
Responsibilities
Initially you will take part in our structured training program before moving out into the field. You will start each day by signing into your handheld device and planning your route. Meters can be inside or outside properties, so you will choose the most convenient time to access an inside meter. You will spend your day walking or driving from property to property, always ensuring your own and customers' safety. Once you arrive you will read the meters and record the information accurately, interacting with the public to provide excellent customer service. You will work independently, supported by your field manager and the wider metering team, and brave the elements come rain or shine.
Qualifications
* You are self‐motivated and energetic, ideally from a background of driving, managing appointments and working outdoors.
* You hold a full UK driving licence.
* You can work to timescales and under pressure.
* You can walk several miles each day.
* You can pass our screening and vetting standards, supply five years of employment history and pass a DBS check.
