Position Overview
The Maintenance Officer plays a key role in supporting the upkeep, safety, and presentation of our facilities. You will work on scheduled preventative maintenance activities and respond to ad-hoc maintenance requests.
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader and under the guidance of the Chief of Operations, the Maintenance Officer is essential in maintaining a high standard of the physical environment across our organisation.
This is a permanent full-time position in our Maintenance department and will be primarily based at our Seaton Residential home with some occasional travel to our Fulham site.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance tasks across buildings, equipment, and grounds.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests, handling minor repairs and escalating complex issues.
* Maintain the appearance and safety of outdoor and communal spaces.
* Participate in the weekend on-call roster every 3 weeks for urgent maintenance issues.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
* Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to achieve maintenance goals.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintenance, preferably within an aged care or similar environment, along with a commitment to safety and quality. The following criteria are essential:
* Proven experience in building, property, or facility maintenance.
* A trade qualification or technical expertise in a relevant field.
* Legal authorisation to test and tag electrical equipment.
* Understanding of WHS obligations and safe work practices.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Physically capable of performing manual and outdoor labor.
* Current South Australian C Class unrestricted driver's license.
* Availability for after-hours on-call responsibilities.
* Rights to work in Australia and a current National Criminal Screening Check.
