The Opportunity
We are seeking a Barista / Cafe Allrounder to create a welcoming and customer service-oriented environment for our residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome all customers with a warm, friendly, and helpful personality and attitude.
2. Serve a range of snacks including hot and cold sandwiches, cakes, muffins, etc.
3. Prepare and serve hot and cold (non-alcoholic) beverages — it is essential you have a barista certificate and can make excellent coffees
4. Clean kitchen, service areas, and dining area around the coffee shop.
5. Follow and execute daily, weekly, and monthly procedures to maintain high-quality cafe operations.
6. Collaborate with the Chef Manager to ensure supplies are adequate for cafe operations.
7. Evaluate the cafe area for hazards such as trips, slips, or other safety issues.
8. Maintain a professional, respectful, and inviting cafe environment that reflects positively on our company.
9. Provide backup support in dining room service when required.
This role involves physical activity, including bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items to perform daily tasks safely.
About You:
We hire based on attitude and aptitude; experience in aged care is not necessary. Formal qualifications such as a Cert II in Hospitality are highly regarded, but what matters most is your friendly disposition, willingness to help others, and demonstrated experience in customer service or hospitality environments.
You must have:
* Proven barista and cafe hospitality experience with a passion for friendly customer service.
* A strong safety attitude and an eye for hazard identification and removal.
* The ability to work independently, be a self-starter, confident, and communicate effectively, especially with kitchen staff.
* Problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to perform at a high standard.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make people feel welcomed.
* Hardworking, flexible, and available to cover shifts.
