Remuneration package valued at $168,946.00, comprising a base salary of $149,059.00 plus leave loading and employer's superannuation contribution.
Overview
Matraville Sports High School is an official Olympic Pathways School with a long history of sporting success across a range of team and individual sports. The school currently enrolls over 500 students, including 30 % Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, 16 % EAL/D students, a support class for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and four for students with intellectual disabilities. It is an inclusive, culturally nourishing, and vibrant learning workplace where teachers, students, and staff collaborate to achieve individual high performance in a caring and compassionate setting.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team with diverse TAS teaching experience, demonstrating the capacity to collaboratively engage and inspire teachers to adopt innovative pedagogy and grow a culture of high expectations.
- A demonstrated understanding of, and ability to implement VET frameworks and pathways to support curriculum diversity, student engagement and post‑school opportunities.
- Capacity to collaborate collegially with staff, students and parents to initiate and drive creative approaches and new ways of thinking that ensure excellence in education for all students.
General Selection Criteria
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
