Support the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department to provide care to women and families within the Northern Territory health service.Key duties and responsibilities1. Provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients across antenatal, postnatal, gynaecology services including labour ward and reproductive health services2. Provide perioperative care, operative services and post-operative follow up for specialist gynaecological patients3. Participate in afterhours cover including rostered night shifts, weekends shifts and sick on call roster once credentialed by consultant staff within the department4. Supervise, support and evaluate the work of junior staff in the provision of inpatient care and medical student education5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.6. Participate in management and leadership roles7. Participate in continuous medical education, professional development, peer review, research, teaching, quality improvement activities and clinical audits as appropriate.8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken, in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.Selection criteriaEssential1. Eligible for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia;2. 6 months experience as an RMO in obstetrics and gynaecologyDesirable1. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively as a team member in a cross-cultural work environment.2. A demonstrated interest in and commitment to improving First Nations Womens health and Rural Health3. Evidence of commitment to continuing education, teaching, research and quality assurance activities.4.
