This presents a great opportunity for a mid level Systems Engineer to manage their legacy Microsoft / VMware / Citrix on-prem stack - solidifying their skills / experience and further advancing their career as the organisation transitions to a cloud based model*Role Description:
Setup, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software that supports operations. The scope includes core business systems, collaboration tools such as M365, supporting infrastructure such as VMware, Citrix, and Active Directory, and back-end and end-user compute hardware.
Provide operational support for complex, recurring, and high severity incidents
Responsibilties:
* Provide SME input into the development of operational management processes and procedures.
* Proactively ensure systems availability, reliability and capacity.
* Operating system and application patching in alignment with agreed cyber risk tolerances
* Respond to incidents and service requests escalated by the Service Desk
* Identify and implement opportunities to automate and or delegate routine tasks to the Service Desk
* Participate in projects as a technical SME as required
* Identify and act on opportunities to deliver excellent customer service
* Proactively build relationships across the business, beyond the technology team
Skills and Experience:
* 4 years of systems engineering, systems administration or similar technical support roles.
* At least 50% of experience within an internal technology team in a mid-sized organisation end user devices)
* Advanced understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and related roles (DNS, DHCP etc.), in a hybrid environment
* Intune (Mobile Devices, Laptops, Appx)
* Citrix & Citrix Cloud (including FSLogix, PVS, WEM)
* VMware provisioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Windows 11 and M365 servicing, SOE creation, patching
* Microsoft Back Office products (MS SQL Server, hybrid Exchange, SCCM)
* Understanding of ITIL principles.
* Hosted and cloud services (IaaS, SaaS, BaaS)
* Ability to create robust, re-usable PowerShell scripts
